Dr Wendy Rose Isbell is a medical specialist and a general practitioner who has a special interest in alternative medicine. She is a member of Pegasus Health.
When required, Dr Wendy Rose Isbell will prescribe pharmaceuticals, arrange for blood tests to be taken or refer you to a specialist for further treatment. Also she prescribes homeopathic remedies, Flower Essences, and Homeobotanicals for patients seeking alternative health care options.
The Light House® is situated at Helios Medical Center, 275 Fifield Terrace.
The phone number is 0800wisbell or 3660508, and the fax number is 3661000.
Office hours are 9:00am to 12:00 noon and 2:00pm to 5:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and 9:00am to 12:00 noon on Wednesday.
Your first consultation includes a full medical assessment, and takes just over an hour.
You will be asked to fill in a questionnaire, giving your symptoms, past illnesses, allergies and medications. Dr Wendy Rose Isbell then talks to you about your illnesses and symptoms. She will want to know about your medication, and about any allergies. A full medical examination is done, and blood tests, prescriptions or referrals are arranged if necessary. She may give you a homeopathic remedy or recommend Flower Essences or Homeobotanicals for you to take at home.
You are asked to come for follow up appointments after your initial consultation so Dr Wendy Rose Isbell can monitor your progress, and arrange further treatment if necessary. This is especially important if you are undergoing homeopathic treatment as it is usually best to have more than one dose at the start of your homeopathic treatment. The average number of doses for a sustained homeopathic treatment is 3 to 6, although you may get better faster or more slowly.

There is a base fee for all consultations, with a surcharge for new patients to allow for the first medical assessment to be performed, and a separate fee for homeopathic remedies, and for Flower Essences and Homeobotanicals. Children under 18, Community Services Card holders, and patients that have Dr Wendy Rose Isbell as their GP all attract a subsidy from the government so their fees are reduced.
Fees may be claimed back on health insurance, usually at specialist rates. However, charges for the homeopathic remedy, Flower Essences and Homeobotanicals will not be reimbursed.
If you have a Community Services Card and an ongoing illness you may be eligible for a Disability Allowance.
If you have had 6 or more medical visits in the last 12 months, or are on a hospital waiting list, you may be eligible for a Care Plus subsidy payment toward your fees. Ask Dr Wendy Rose Isbell if you think you would be eligible.
