Dr Wendy Rose Isbell graduated with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. She spent her junior doctor years in Christchurch, New Zealand, and studied postgraduate medicine and psychiatry.
She gained her Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in London, and attended a course in Advanced Medicine at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School of the University of London. She attended tutorials and demonstrations at other London teaching hospitals, and worked at Hammersmith Hospital in London and Basildon Hospital in Essex .
She returned to Christchurch, New Zealand, and held a part-time position as physician in Health Care of the Elderly at Princess Margaret Hospital, and also worked at Sunnyside Hospital. She was a Clinical Lecturer in Medicine for the University of Otago and Visiting Lecturer at Christchurch Polytechnic. She gained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian college of Physicians in Internal Medicine, with an option in Geriatric Medicine.
She then went into private practice as a Physician and Homeopath in Christchurch, and gained Fellowship of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners. She worked part time as a Physician for the Lipid and Diabetes Research Group at Christchurch Hospital.
In the field of alternative medicine, she has completed a number of certificate and diploma courses. She has studied with the British Institute of Homeopathy, and completed their Diploma in Homeopathy and advanced Homeopathic Medicine Diploma, as well as being awarded a Fellowship of the British Institute of Homeopathy.
She is a Senior Research Fellow of the Homeobotanical Institute, and was awarded the Certificate of Homeobotanical Therapy with Distinction. She has worked widely with Flower Essences, and has lectured on their use.
She has studied many forms of healing, including Reiki, Reconnective Healing, chakra balancing, energy work and healing with The Light Body.
Currently she works full time at The Light House® in Christchurch as a Holistic Doctor, offering Medical Assessments and General Practice, as well as Alternative Treatment Options and Healing. She is a member of Pegasus Health and Partnership Health Organisation. She is registered with the New Zealand Medical Council as a Specialist in Internal Medicine, and has Vocational Registration in General Practice. She is current with Maintenance of Professional Standards programmes with both the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners.
